The Stolid Gallery on Chelton Street was jammed with shoulder-to-shoulder art lovers, which proved that the show was quite the success, even if I didn’t want to be there. The gallery’s four white rooms, with movable walls in the center to take the overflow, were filled with my work. The pieces I liked best were Cowboy Undressing #4, Sinister Kiss between Men, Rodeo Chest #2, Bronco, Roping a Cowboy, and Hogtied #3. Women and queer cowboys—my customer profile—milled through the show, drinking champagne and nibbling beef appetizers. The steady chatter rose a level every time another group of handsome cowboys arrived in the two short hours I was at the show. Both Mike and Sasha were pleased with the show’s turnout.
