“This is all beside the point, though,” Tim said, exasperated. “The point is, he’s keeping things from me. And it reminds me of the time when…”

“Don’t even go there, Tim,” Lacy said softly.

“I can’t help it. He’s always hanging around those pretty cheerleaders and pretending to be straight. It sickens me to think I could lose him again.”

“I think you’re overreacting,” Lacy said. “Thing is, you can’t confront him on any of it without giving yourself away,” Charlie said.

“How do I confirm my suspicions, then? Or not? We’re supposed to move to New York next year and start varsity together. What the hell?”
