“Husbands,” he said, “what you gonna do?” They said their goodbyes and made plans to get together soon.

“You’re angry,” Tim stated bluntly.

“Annoyed,” Tom corrected.

Biting his tongue, Tim wondered about Charlie’s theory about tops versus plungers. It seemed to make a lot of sense at the moment.

“Look, I know it was inconsiderate of me not to let you know. But Carla just asked me this morning for a late lunch and the day was so hectic, then we got to talking and time just got away from us. At least we got to talking.”

“So why not father her children then?” Tom snapped. Seeing his stunned face, Tom visibly relaxed his temper and said, “Sorry, babe. That was childish. It’s just, you know how I am over what’s mine. I’m a single child. Never learned to share and spoiled rotten.”
