“Pleased to make your acquaintance,” the captain said in his crisp English accent.
“Mr. Gregor has told us you have a proposal for the plantation owners,” Theodore said cordially. “I would be interested to hear what you have in mind.”
“I would rather not discuss it here,” the captain replied with a smile. “Might Mr. Gregor and I call on you tomorrow at your home?”
“Of course,” Theodore replied with a slight inclination of his head. “May we invite you both to lunch with us, say about twelve o’clock?”
“I would be delighted,” the captain replied.
“That is very kind of you,” Mr. Gregor added. “Thank you.”
“Until tomorrow,” Captain Andersen said and started to walk away. Then he turned back to Theodore and looked him up and down. “I am sorry, but have we met before? You look familiar.”
