Chapter 69

Olivia was standing there and Courtney was standing beside her, clinging to her leg. Olivia looked good. She was wearing sunglasses, dark jeans, a red tee shirt, and red sandals. Her toenails were painted red also and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail. Courtney, who was sucking her thumb, was wearing a yellow and white polka dotted shirt with matching yellow pants and little white sandals. Her light brown hair was parted down the middle of her head and two long braids hung down her back. Just seeing her made my eyes tear up. I couldn??t even speak. I wanted to rush to her and pick her up and hug her and kiss her, but I didn??t. I held back, scared that if I made a move toward her, Olivia would scoop her up and take her away again.

??Hi, Brian,?? Olivia said after removing her sunglasses.

??Hi,?? I managed to say. My voice sounded strained and I struggled to swallow down the lump in my throat.
