Chapter 22

Adam swatted him on the butt. “Come on—you told me to be sure you were vertical before I left.”

“I’m up, I’m up.” Josh flung off the sheet and sat up. Stretching his arms over his head, he smiled at Adam and said, “That was my last night as a carefree bachelor.”

Adam pressed a kiss on Josh’s lips. “Just wait for your first night as a married man. I’ve been studying all those yellow sticky notes, you know.”

“Mmm. Promises, promises.”

Both anticipation and anxiety flared in Adam’s chest. Please let one of those promises today be to love, honor and obey. Please.

The sound of a car crunching over the gravel driveway came through the open window.

Adam picked up his overnight case and the garment bag that held his tuxedo. “Your mom’s here. She’s going to keep me busy all day, so I’ll see you at the church.”
