Chapter 24

“I’ll meet with Rian,” Caiden said decisively.

“I was hoping you’d take that track,” Zander replied. “You’re the only one I trust to get to the bottom of things and find out if my brother is what he seems to be—a criminal. Or if I jumped to conclusions without hearing him out and offering to help him if he needed it.” He sighed deeply. “He is my brother and I love him. I always will. If I was wrong, I have to make it up to him.”

Caiden called Leander as soon as he left Zander’s home, since he now had his number. He told his—lover, he supposed—that he wanted to meet Rian. Leander promised to set it up, and half an hour later he called back to say the meeting was on for that evening. “No dinner involved,” he told Caiden, laughing, before giving Caiden an address on St. Charles Avenue. “He expects you at seven.”

“Will you be there?”

“Yes.”
