When Rian came back inside a few minutes later, Caiden was reading one of the files. He glanced up, saying, “It’s a good thing I got to meet him, however briefly. He’s different than I thought from looking at his pictures.”

“Indeed he is. I should have warned you, although it’s all in there.” Rian gestured to the envelopes. “When he’s in public, he comes across as a sort of shy, benign man. In private, he’s obviously quite different. Part, one can suppose, of what makes him so able to deal with keeping his company running efficiently.”

“In other words, he doesn’t believe in catching more flies with honey than vinegar.”

“No, he’s more of a ‘big stick’ kind of person,” Rian replied. “Only without the ‘speak softly’ part.”

“How much of this information came directly from him, as compared to other sources?” Caiden asked.
