Then, reversing how he had entered, he left the hidden, underground—or under pool, I guess—area, and returned to the house. He had the distinct feeling that Kingsley never went to the gallery during the day, when there was a chance the hired help could see what the man was doing to access it. Only well after midnight, the way I did, when he’s certain they are down for the night.

As soon as he got to his bedroom, he called Leander.

“You found it?” Leander asked once they’d greeted each other.

“Yes. But, there’s security and that is not my thing.”

“Of course there is. He’s not a fool. Did you get a visual of the interior of the gallery?”

“Not enough to do you any good. Especially if you land in there and set off alarms.”

Leander chuckled. “Just how long do you think it will take me to collect what we’re looking for? I can be in and out before the cops or security people are in their cars.”

“Hadn’t thought of that,” Caiden admitted.
