Chapter 35

“Do not try to bargain, Kingsley. That’s the price, and it’s a one-time offer. After tonight, it goes up—half a million per day.”

Caiden paced the cabin, apparently thinking about Lockey’s offer—or whatever his name was. “I’ll get the money for you, on one condition. You take off the mask.”

“So you can identify me and tell the police?” Lockey laughed humorlessly. “I don’t think so.”

“I won’t,” Caiden replied, pacing closer to the man. “After all, I have as much to lose as you do, since I’d rather the authorities didn’t find out about my collection.”

“Be that as it may, I am not revealing who I am or what I look like.”

“Then no deal. Take me back to shore.” As he said those words, Caiden took one last step, bringing him within arm’s reach of the man. He shoved him against the bulkhead, grabbing the mask as he did. When he pulled it off he froze in shock.
