Chapter 57

I’d be in bed with Theirn. Caiden mentally shook his head, wondering whose wish that would be. Perhaps…both of ours? When the time comes. If it does.

“Is there anything else we need to settle at the moment?” Caiden asked, looking at the others.

Gerben laughed. “I slept on worse things, but I think I’ll pass. Is there a motel within walking distance, by chance?”

“Yes,” Caiden said, remembering one he and Theirn had passed on their walk earlier in the day. “I’m not sure how good it is.”

“If it has a bed and a shower, I’ll be fine. Which way?”

“West of here. Walk along Broadway then down Speer half a block. There’s a clock on one side. A big one.”
