Chapter 29

Mr. Perkins gave the will to Daniel after making two copies, one for himself, as he’d drawn it up, and one for Daniel’s attorney back in Cleveland. “I suggest you keep this in a safety deposit box or give it to your executor,” he told Daniel.

“Even though it’s my sister?”

“Yes. That is quite legal most states. If you’d rather use a safety deposit box, make certain to let her know and give her the legal authority to open the box on your death.” He smiled, adding, “I can draw that up for a nominal fee.”

“Thanks, but I’ll send it to her.” He paid the lawyer for his services, took the will, and he and Griffin left Mr. Perkin’s offices.

“Next stop, the post office?” Griffin asked.

“Yep. The sooner Mellie has this, the better. And then,” Daniel smiled maliciously, “I’ll email Ray to let him know he’s no longer a beneficiary. That should frost his ass, and hopefully get him off mine.”
