Chapter 6

“If I end up with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, I promise you, I will kill you.”

“I don’t think a tick’s going to give you rabies, my love,” Lennon, one of the Lumbersexuals, said. Lennon had been flirting relentlessly with Brandon since the trip started, a situation that Brandon found mildly discomforting, since Lennon’s boyfriend, Theo, was ragingly jealous. If they hadn’t been surrounded by the rest of the campers, Brandon was pretty sure that Theo would have spiked Brandon’s coffee with bug spray. Scott, on the other hand, found the situation deliciously funny. Brandon was notamused.

Lennon slapped Brandon’s ass on the way by, not looking around and pretending it hadn’t happened, even though Brandon jumped and made an embarrassingly high-pitched squeak. Brandon could picture Lennon’s smirk. He’d seen it often enough over the past three days; he didn’t need X-ray vision.

Not all the bugs on this trip were insects.
