Moira gave him a hand, but kept talking. “As for living with your parents, plenty of college graduates have to go back home for a while to save money. At least you didn’t try to rent an apartment only to go even further into debt and have to go back to mommy and daddy in shame. Same with the job. You know what you want and what you can handle right now, and you’re being responsible. Zach would be impressed.”

Dustin fidgeted with a box of marshmallows, trying to get it to line up perfectly with the box next to it while he thought of something to say. “Okay, yeah, maybe…”

“So next time you see him, you say, ‘Hell yes I want to get a coffee with you, you sexy bastard. It would be my honor.’”

Dustin laughed. “I’m not going to say that, but I’ll think about it.”

“Good, because I think—”

Moira was cut off by someone shouting from two aisles over, “Hey! Everybody! Someone settle this; would you rather fight a horse-sized duck, or fifty duck-sized horses?”
