Their desires satisfied, he ruptured the silence. “Raphael, if you truly don’t want to continue on like this, you must stop showing up at my room at all hours of the night.”

“Oh, Lee, why can’t we continue on like this? Get together when one or the other needs to.”

“I am not going to become a convenience for you.”

Raphael lay in the bed, his head resting against Leander’s chest. He stroked Raphael’s hair as they lay together.

“What if we went away after graduation?” Leander asked.

“And where do propose we run off to?”

“We could go back to London. No one really knows us there.”

Raphael cocked his head a bit and looked at him. “And what would we do for a living?”

“Ray, I haven’t thought that far; it’s an idea.”

“Well, that’s our quandary…how would we live? Neither of us knows a skill. Our profession is God and the only careers out there are in the church.”

“We could become missionaries,” Leander said.
