Chapter 17

“It’s just the one bedroom but I haven’t needed anything else. The couple times I’ve had a non-sexual guest over, the couch in the living room opens to a bed, so it works.”

“I’m very impressed, Adam. You have a great house.”

“Thank you, Galaxy. Let’s sit outside with our drinks. I thought I’d grill steaks. Will that be okay?”

“Sounds great.”

A few minutes later, they were seated at a glass table with plush cushioned chairs sipping their daiquiris and looking out at the bay.

“Damn, do you do this every night?” Galaxy wondered. He wished he’d brought his sketchbook with him. What the hell had he been thinking?

“If it’s not too cold, I’m out here almost every night. Minus the drink,” Adam said with a grin. “Usually I’m out here with tea or coffee.”

“I’d never leave.” He sighed. “Sorry if I’m gushing.”

“Nah, you aren’t. I’m glad you like my place. I didn’t have much to do with it other than buying it. I really like your house, too, and I mean it.”
