Chapter 15

Armand, rather than choosing to join Kingston on the sofa, settled on the arm of Tino’s chair, smiling down at him.

Kingston lifted an eyebrow, but apparently decided not to comment. “For starters,” he said to Tino, “I need to know when you arrived at the party, and when you left.”

“I got there around eight. I left—” Tino glanced at Armand, “—around nine?”

“Yes,” Armand agreed. He said to Kingston, “I called Tino, just before nine, asking him if he wanted to come to my house when the party was over.” He chuckled. “Tino said he was already ready to leave.”

“The party was dull, I only knew a few people, so Armand’s call gave me a ready-made excuse to get out of there, which I did.”

“Did anyone see you leave who could vouch for that?” Kingston asked.

“Hell if I know. I bolted, and headed to Armand’s.”

“How?”

“I drove, of course.”

“The parking valet doesn’t remember bringing you your car.”
