Chapter 28

The second building definitely had potential, if the floor plan he’d seen was any indication. It had been an office building—two stories plus a basement—taking up half a city block. Both floors had been broken up into multiple small and medium-sized rooms that could work for sleeping areas and the other things a good shelter needed. One room had been a small kitchen, presumably for employee use. Hardly on a caliber with the one at the former bar, but that was made up for by the number of rooms—over forty, if the floor plans were correct—as compared to nine at the other place.

Tino peered through the front windows before deciding to go around back to see if he could find a spot he could use to get inside, if he misted. Since the building wasn’t a residence, he didn’t need to be invited in. He found a way in, and for the next half hour he explored the interior. By the time he finished, he knew it would make a perfect shelter for homeless teens. With a lot of work, of course.
