“With that proviso,” Hardin said, in response to what Tino had said to him, “I don’t see any problems. I’ll have a firm contract for you, listing all the details of what we’re going to do, by tomorrow night.” They thanked him, and Hardin left.

It was ten-thirty by then, and Tino was eager to get out on the streets to pass the word about the new shelter, and the fact it was open from dusk to dawn for all comers. He said as much, adding, “Within limits. After we run out of floor space, we’ll have to close the doors.”

“First,” Armand said, “we meet with the other vampires. Then, we need to find people who’ll help you man the place.”
