“You’re pretty quiet today,” Mark, one of the men Luke worked with, said a few hours later

Luke shrugged. “Thinking about…things.”

“Problems?”

“Not really. It’s…A couple of weeks ago, the only people I knew in the city were guys I hung out with on the street. Now I’ve met two men who…”

“The ones you told me about?”

“Yeah. One of them is the guy who got me the job, here. We’re pretty good friends now. The other one…I keep bumping into him, or he bumps into me. Not literally. We just seem to be in the same place at the same time. He’s nice. Hell, he’s even given me a ride to work a couple of times.”

Mark grinned. “He’s after your hot body.”

“As if. Hell, as far as I know, he’s straight and has some sort of do-gooder thing going.”

“Only one way to find out. Ask him.”
