Slinging an arm around Luke’s shoulders, Finn replied. “They’re innocuous and no one pays attention to other people there. They have their eyes glued to their cell phones or laptops.”
“Or they’re reading. I should have brought my book to study. I have a class Wednesday night.”
“You can do that tonight. For now…” Finn steered him around the corner and to the coffee shop, opening the door for him. “I’ll be back as soon as I get the layout of his place.”
Luke nodded, saying quietly, “That’s all you’re going to do.”
“Yeah. Once I have an idea of what I could be facing, I’ll make plans for tomorrow.”
“I work tomorrow,” Luke protested.
Stepping out of the way to let a customer enter, Finn replied, “I know. That will keep you safe and out of my hair.” He kissed Luke quickly. “Go. Order us both coffee. I’ll probably be back before you get to the front of the line.”
With a sigh, Luke obeyed.
