“Mom, no,” said Chad, groaning out the words. Despite the fact Sander was nearly two decades younger than her and gay, Evelyn Heuer was on a mission to make the chef her boyfriend, much to Chad’s dismay and Kiko’s discomfort.

“I don’t need your opinion on it,” she said. “Don’t you have papers to write?”
