Chapter 43

Matt snorted, a sound Vic felt inside him. Then something hard and sharp nudged him in the ribs—Matt’sribs—and he heard Roxie’s voice echo through Matt into him. ::Shh. What’s so funny?::

::Nothing,::Matt replied. Before she could ask again, he added, ::Shh yourself.::

Vic grinned, a little saddened by the exchange. He wished he could be there beside Matt, cuddling up to him in the dark, murmuring into his lover’s ear. Or, better yet, he wanted them both home, snuggling beneath the covers of their bed, listening to the sleet and ice spit against their window. He sent that mental image to Matt, the two of them twined together, warm in the midst of the storm.

Matt sighed. ::Now that’s going to be in my head the rest of the day,::he said. ::I know what we’re doing tonight.::
