A faint grin tugged at his lips just thinking about his lover. But Roxie’s disbelief leeched his slight happiness. “In the bathroom,” she said. “You were on the phone while you were taking a piss.”


“Roxie!” Matt shook his head—the girl had no couth. “That’s not what I meant.”


“I’m just trying to envision this,” she told him. “One hand directing the hose and the other holding the phone? Or were you sort of getting off on it? I mean, all I’m asking is…”


Matt sighed. One lie always led to another. “He called, all right?”


That only made her frown harder. “I thought you said you called.”
