Chapter 84

Matt laughed. He liked messing with Vic when his lover didn’t have all his mental synapses firing yet. “Time to get up, babycakes. You should probably change the bed sheets. Sadie got soaked when I let her out this morning. It’s raining buckets out there. Are you up and about yet?”

“What?” Then Vic became aware of a pressure in his bladder, and suddenly he was up and about. “I got to pee.”

Matt found the announcement deliciously funny. “You are a man of many words,” he teased. “This is why I love you. So poetic.”

With a shake of his head, Vic dropped the phone to the bed and slipped out from under the covers. He barely made it in time—in the darkened room, he straddled the toilet, head down, as he relieved himself. When the stream died away, he leaned back with a sigh. Matty,he thought, almost at random. Wasn’t he supposed to be at work?
