The doggy day care where Vic and Matt boarded Sadie during the day wasn’t very far from the gym where Matt worked. Since neither wanted to leave the dog to someone else’s care longer than necessary, Matt would see to Sadie’s needs in the morning, then leave her with Vic when he went to work. Vic usually didn’t have to go in before noon, and he always liked to stop by the gym before clocking in—before he met Matt, it had been just to work out, but he’d be lying if he didn’t admit seeing his lover was a plus. The only time they connected in the morning was at the gym; Vic drove a city bus from noon to eight in the evening, and sometimes had to pick up a second shift when asked, which didn’t leave much time for them later in the day. Though, granted, they made up for it in bed every night.
