“I’m ready for sure. Check in with Cody and then collapse.”
“Do you always do that?” Ewan asked as they left the diner.
“Yeah. It’s habit. We’ve been friends forever so we usually have a beer and compare notes about our day when we get home.”
Ten minutes later Noah was knocking on Cody’s door. When his friend didn’t answer, he shot a worried look at Ewan before knocking harder.
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” Cody called out and a moment later he opened the door. “You diddrag him along,” he said, glancing at Ewan.
“I did,” Noah agreed, studying Cody.
“What? Do I have dirt on my face or something?”
“No, because you just took a shower.”
“And just how do you know that—Sherlock?” Cody asked, stepping back to let them in.
Noah chuckled. “Your hair’s still wet and you’re only wearing jeans?”
