Chapter 22

“Ouch!”

“Good. I’ll order physical therapy to loosen it up all the way. My next question is, are you ready to go home?” Bond asked.

“Yes! I’d like to sleep again.” He groaned. “People were whispering outside my door in the middle of the night again. Same man, but with a woman instead of a man.”

“I’m glad they weren’t arguing this time.” Bond patted his leg. “I’ll write your discharge orders, and you’ll be home by noon, providing you have a ride. I want to see you in a week. My receptionist will call tomorrow with an appointment.”

Walking down the carpeted corridor to the next patient, he wondered if the pain medicine was giving the patient bad dreams or confusing him. Since it could do this, he wasn’t sure how real the whispering was…or the argument on Saturday.
