Chapter 31

“Tim, we’d like to know where you were yesterday morning between eight and ten AM,” Doyle said and sounded almost casual.

“I…I was with my boyfriend Giorgio. At his house. That’s not a crime, is it?”

“That so?” Kord said, his voice low and menacing.

“Y-yeah. Why would I lie?”

“Because, you little shit, instead of being with your boyfriend, you were rammin’ a truck into me and my partner.” Kord didn’t bother to control his anger. He let it roll with his words off his tongue. And Tim flinched with every word.

“N-no! Not true. You think I’m crazy to do something like that? I was with Giorgio.”

“Funny,” Doyle said. “Giorgio remembers it differently.” He stared at Tim. “And Giorgio wasn’t so reluctant to give you up.”

“I told you that fat little wop was trouble,” the older brother said and cursed under his breath.

“Shut up. You don’t know anything. He loves me. He wouldn’t give me up for anything.”
