“Pretty ritzy, huh?” Mars said, surprising Dylan by putting one arm around his waist.

“Damn, I guess.” He shot Mars an amused glance. “Need support going down the stairs?”

Mars grinned. “You caught my ulterior motive.” Then, more seriously, he said, “Not really. I just…” He shrugged.

Wanted to get a bit personal? He liked the idea, and wondered if he should ask aloud but was saved from making the decision when Vicki joined them.

“I’m starving,” she told them. “So there better be good food and plenty of it.”

“There won’t be if you don’t get your skinny ass down here,” Emmet called up from the bottom of the staircase.

“Skinny ass my…ass,” Vicki called back as she hurried down to meet him.

“Are they…?” Dylan asked.

“Got me,” Mars replied. “They weren’t last time she and I were out here, but things can change in a heartbeat.”

“Big brothers should know these things.”

Mars snorted. “I take it you don’t have younger sisters.”
