“…tomorrow or the next day,” Molly was saying.

“What?” Felix wiped at his face in the most covert manner he could manage. “I missed that.”

“I said I’d be glad to put you up somewhere until your friends could be tracked down. Or I could take you to the airport tomorrow or the day after.”

“Take me back to Malloy Farm, if you would.”

Molly regarded him with a look of surprise, but something else. Pride? She nodded and turned back to the road. Once they had arrived back at the farm, she told him Lorcan would be in the hospital for a couple of days at the least and she made sure he knew how to contact her.

Kiva streaked from somewhere far afield to tackle him, a blur of fur, tongue, and tail. “At least someone here loves me. Let’s get to work, girl.”
