Felix spent the rest of the night sitting with Lorcan who mostly read, but occasionally would ask after Felix’s progress around the farm. Felix was surprised at how much he enjoyed the time he spent with Lorcan. At one time, getting off Malloy Farm as quickly and thoroughly as possible had been his only goal in life, but that was no longer the case. He saw value in the lives of these men and their ancestral home beyond anything he could imagine and if the men who visited here earlier that night were any threat to that, Felix was determined to stop them.
It took some time, the night having grown significantly darker since he had last been outside, but eventually his hand snatched a slick business card, made slicker by the evening’s dew, out of the grass. Above a phone number, it read simply, “The People’s Bank of Lisdoonvarna.”Chapter 8
