“Go on.” Molly wiped at her mouth with her napkin.

“I paid the vet all the money I had saved. It was that or the cows had to be put down.”

“Why do you care what happens to the Malloy cattle? I thought you hated the place.”

Felix shrugged. “I care.”

“So, we still need to get to why you were at the bank. You’re now totally out of money and?”

“Well, the night Ronan and Lorcan got back, there were these bank dudes and I got the impression it was all over. Ronan didn’t have the money and neither did I, but I did have something of value.”

“Are we talking about prostitution?”

“Ew. Not funny, Molly. No. My camera.”

“I see. And did that work?”

“It bought him some time.”

“Well, then,” Molly said. “Maybe it’s time we head out there and get your stuff.”

“Why?” Felix stared, open-mouthed and near panic. “Did I do something wrong?”
