Chapter 42

He’d received many texts while his phone was off, and an unreal number of Twitter notifications. He read through them fast. Tons of congratulatory tweets by people he knew, strangers too, a myriad of new followers, many private messages from Russell…

What?

Reggie read back through the notifications list. It had to be someone else, a random stranger named Russell Lee who wasn’t connected to his Russell. His heart started beating like a fool in the middle of his chest and his face—his whole body—became fiery. As predicted.

Russell Lee’s first public tweet had been written about eight hours earlier. Reggie Weston was amazing, like a diamond in the sky. I wasn’t.

Reggie checked the tweeter’s profile—it was the Russell Lee, unequivocally. Shortly after he’d sent out the tweet, Reggie’s notifications indicated that Russell had followed him. His heart beat so furiously, his ears were ringing. A diamond in the sky…nobody had never called him anything so beautiful.
