Chapter 59

“I’ll wait outside,” Reggie finally said, heading for the door. How could he promise Russell he wouldn’t be embarrassing if he managed to do it without even speaking? His mere presence seemed to be enough to tell the world how much he loved Russell Lee.

It wasn’t good, it wasn’t good at all.

He was ready to kick something in his anger. As he realized he would’ve hit the Guzzi, he heard the bell above the shop’s door jingle, announcing Russell had followed him outside. He stumbled and almost fell on the ground, but grabbed the bike’s handlebar and braced himself against the wall with one hand. Impossible to avoid that agony.

“Is everything okay, Reggie?”

Was there some sort of magic spell that would allow him to disappear quickly? Probably not. “Um, yeah…” he mumbled.

The Englishman gave him a funny look.

“I’m sorry for embarrassing you,” Reggie said. It took all his strength to get the words to come out.

“For what?” Russell asked, getting on the motorcycle.
