Sebastian’s eyes narrowed when he saw a patrol car go past and he fixed his turtleneck and glasses. His hair was no longer blond but dark. He might have to change his hair color again but he had no time right then. His priority was Devin. He would not let Devin slip away from him again.

“Hi, Devin,” Miles said when Devin opened his eyes. “How’re you feeling?” Devin looked dazed, and looked around the room then back again to Miles. “You’re at the hospital. It was Sebastian. Do you remember anything?”
Devin gave a small nod.
“Good. That’s good. We haven’t got him, but we will. I promise you.” His heart clenched at the devastated look on Devin’s face. Miles waved toward the door. “Jeff’s out getting some coffee. You’re safe, Devin. We’re not going to leave you alone.”
