Chapter 30

There was a faint ping from the elevator and Sebastian held his breath. Here we go, he thought as he pulled back from the window and hid behind the door, clutching the fire extinguisher in both hands, ready to ambush anyone crossing the doorway.

A figure stepped in, a duffel bag in his hand. Sebastian waited until he was completely inside, then pushed the door closed behind the person, who belatedly turned around, eyes widening before the solid tube smacked the side of his head. He went down heavily, out cold instantly. Sebastian stopped for a moment admiring his work.

This time he didn’t grab the fire extinguisher. Instead, he picked up a large knife, holding it in a tight backhand grip. He was walking back to the front room when he heard the door open.
