Hellfire was waiting for him just outside the back door. “Movin’ on up, I see. Good job!”
Cole could barely contain his excitement. “Isn’t it amazing, Holly? Do you want to come see my room? You’ll have to be quiet, but—”
“Pass.” Hellfire took out her notebook and flipped to a blank page. “Hard pass, actually. And it’s Hellfire, not Holly. Now, tell me how this happened.”
“You don’t have to be so rude all the time, you know. Hellfire is actually the perfect name for you now that I think about it. I prefer Holly. It’s a pretty name. But Hellfire fits, that’s for sure.”
Hellfire sighed and ground out her cigarette. “Look, I’m sorry. I’ve been really stressed about this whole thing. Please update me.”
“That’s better. I don’t know exactly what happened, actually. I got here this morning and they were both acting so weird. They were exchanging all these glances and it was super uncomfortable.”
“Weird.” Hellfire made a note of this. “And what did you do?”
