Cole could not speak. His brain could not process the amount of pain and disappointment that was currently pulling it apart and smashing it down into a million pieces simultaneously. Even if he could form a coherent thought, his throat was constricted, his lungs afraid to expand. His mind was racing as he broke out into a cold sweat. It raced even faster when he realized it wasn’t sweat. He was melting.
