Tristan answered on the fourth ring. “Hey, baby, what’s up?”


Though Tristan had started calling him “baby” three weeks ago, Rain still got flustered every time he heard the word out of Tristan’s lips. “I was just eating a piece of chocolate here at work and it made me think of you,” Rain said. “How are you? Are you at the office or on the road?”


“I’m in the car, but parked in the underground at the office.” Tristan’s voice was a little shaky. “How do I remind you of dark chocolate?”


“Are you okay?” Rain frowned, looking down at the counter, tuning into Tristan’s energy.


“Yes, Rain,” Tristan snapped. “Look, I gotta go.”
