Chapter 28

“Answer you phone,” he muttered, the third time his call went to Mike’s voicemail. “I swear, if you decided to go to work, against doctor’s orders…”

He finally gave up around four in the afternoon. He emailed Brody to tell him that he hadn’t talked to Mike yet. As soon as I get home, I’ll bang on his door until he answers. Of course, knowing Mike, he might be at work, the idiot.

As good as his word, Sage did stop by Mike’s townhouse when he got home—and got no answer when he rang the doorbell.

He wasn’t too surprised when he walked into his place to find Brody and Jon waiting for him.

“Anything?” Jon asked.

“Nope.”

“I know Mike. Well knew him,” Brody said. “I’d bet my bottom dollar he—2rdquo;

“Went into work,” Sage and Jon said at the same time.

“Bingo. Call him there, Sage.”
