“You’re the sun. I’m the moon, reflecting your light. Or something like that. I never was all that good with science.”

“Works for me,” Brody replied, giving him a fast hug before turning to Sage. “Ask Mike again about Jon’s murder. I think the question got lost with all you sweet-talking him.”

Sage rolled his eyes then did as Brody requested.

“Not a damned thing, I’m afraid,” Mike said. “My take on it is, Irwin killed him. That, plus his killing Grant, was probably why Reed decided to eliminate him before he did any more damage, since after Grant’s murder we were looking for him. Irwin that is.”

Sage nodded, telling Jon what Mike had said. Jon’s shoulders slumped. Other than that, he seemed to take it in stride, asking Sage, “Has he looked into Stryker. Brody deserves a chance to move on, if possible.”
