Mike did spend time, when he wasn’t dealing with phone calls and paperwork, trying to find information on Manny Stryker. He’d been arrested several times before he was eighteen for selling drugs to minors. The only thing that saved his hide from spending more than a couple of days in jail was the fact his father was a businessman with deep pockets. He hired the best lawyers to make certain Stryker got a slap on the wrist and a hefty fine, rather than going to prison.

As soon as he turned eighteen, Stryker’s father stopped protecting him. He got busted again, spent a year in jail and then, with the backing of a man he met in prison, became a low echelon member North’s gang—mostly running errands, according to the file the department had on him.
