“Six-thirty, right?” Sage said.

Mike nodded. “Yep. The movie starts at seven-forty. That gives us time to grab a bite to eat, first.”

“This is going to be the longest courtship in the history of man,” Jon grumbled.

Brody laughed. “Slow and easy, but they’ll get there.”

“They better. And we’d better get out of here before Sage realizes we’re watching.”

Sage winked at them and the last thing they heard before they took off was Mike saying, “They’re here, aren’t they?” and Sage replying, “Well, duh.” 11

“Lieutenant, are you busy?” Mike asked, stepping into Price’s office, two days after his date with Sage.

Price rolled his eyes. “Aren’t I always? What do you need?”

Mike took a deep breath. “A few minutes of your time.”

“Is it important?” Price asked.

“I think it is.”
