Mike replied, after Sage told him what Brody said, “I don’t have to get specific. In fact, I’d better not. The killer knows what he did. If I say the wrong thing, he may, probably would, pick up on it. It’s to our advantage that it was dark enough on the bridge that, if the killer dropped something, he might not have realized it. I won’t tell anyone what it was, because I know for a fact he didn’t, having checked it out the first time I was there.”

“I saw,” Sage said. “I figured you were trying to find anything which would tell you if it was an accident, or if Tonio jumped.”
