If only they could get at the mayor, as Travis’ instincts screamed at him to do. Faolan still refused to entertain the idea until a concrete connection to their case was brought to light. So far, nothing. The last three victims didn’t have anything to do with politics besides voting, didn’t even run in the same social circles, or even neighborhoods. Hell, even their doctors were all different.

Above all that, there was still no motive.

Out in the hot night air, he felt a little better. Waiting for the next victim to turn up tore his nerves to pieces and it definitely showed.

Something whistled past his head and exploded the glass door he and Virgil had just come out of.
