“I think it’s what they call a shotgun,” Ash commented. “Because you can shoot a bullet from the front doorway and it’ll go out the back door without hitting anything.”
Behind the house was a small yard with a garage that they could get to from the alley.
It came furnished—sort of. There was a king size bed, a sofa, a table and four chairs. The kitchen was decent, with a fair amount of cupboard space. The bathroom had a tub with a shower. “But no curtain,” Ash was quick to point out.
“We’ll have to go shopping,” Kegan agreed. “Let’s make a list.”
By the time they finished, the list included dishes, pots and pans, linens, towels, the shower curtain, and food.
“Thank God we have a truck,” Gage muttered as they headed to a big box store where they could get everything in one stop.
Three hours later, they’d unloaded their purchases. The shower curtain was up, the bed made, towels hung in the bathroom, and the kitchen cupboards and the fridge were well stocked with food.
