“There’s not much cover we can use if we want to get into the house,” Ash commented.

“With the kind of security he undoubtedly has on the place, he’s probably not worried about that,” Kegan said. “And you can bet he’s got perimeter security set up as well.”

Having done what they could for the time being, they headed home to eat dinner before coming up with a plan for their next move.

Kegan had barely settled down in the living room after dinner when his cell vibrated. He took it out, and read the text message.

“No,” he whispered, dropping the phone. “No!” His voice rose in a cry of anguish as he pounded his fist on his thigh, once, twice, moaning “Not again. Not again.”

Gage was beside him seconds later, grabbing his hand, while Ash picked up the fallen phone.
