Chapter 49

He did, and stepped into the security center for the house. A man stood in front of a video monitor, facing the door. He was holding a pistol aimed at Kegan. He grinned, his finger tightening on the trigger. With a flick of his wrist, Kegan’s knife dropped into his hand. He threw it, piercing the man’s chest. Before the man could do more than gape in surprise, Kegan pulled it out and slashed the man’s throat. With that accomplished, Kegan set about turning off the cameras, motion detectors, and other security that Patterson had installed on the interior of the house.
