“And neither are we,” she said. “I’m just dropping by with the Heartstival posters.”
Dom noticed even Kiko was giving her a blank look.
“They decided to make posters this year, remember? Look.” She set them down and took one from the top, holding it up so they could see. A gigantic, throbbing red heart filled most of the sheet, with white lettering on it announcing the times and events. In the corners were pink candy hearts that read, “Be Mount Valentine.”
“Great,” said Dom, realizing what that meant. “Now I have to rearrange everything I hung up yesterday.” He glanced at Kiko. “I can’t believe you didn’t tell me. Did you forget?”
“Must have,” said Kiko, looking like he wanted Dom to drop it. Joy smiled at Dom as she counted out the number of posters that were going to Kiko and peeled them away from the stack.
“This is Kiko’s least favorite holiday. Sometimes he conveniently forgets things. You have everything ready for your booth on Saturday, Kiko?”
